Formed by two professional pilots and their wives, the Real Flying Company is a Shoreham (Sussex)-based flying school which encompasses all the usual aspects of PPL training, from ab initio through to Night and IMC.  For the qualified PPL or professional pilot, recreational flying is available on a varied fleet which includes vintage and modern aerobatic aircraft, most of which are available for self-fly hire.  We also run basic or advanced aerobatic training to AOPA certificate standard, along with tailwheel conversions.

Many of our members are commercial pilots whose PPL privileges had lapsed and who decided to return to GA purely for the fun of it.  A PPL renewal is a simple process involving a few hours revision, followed by a general handling skill test with an element of VFR navigation, all of which can be completed ‘in-house’ on Piper Warrior, de Havilland Chipmunk or Stampe SV4c.  Also available is an Extra 300L and North American T6G (Harvard). We are situated on the south-east corner of Shoreham Airport in the new FAST Helicopters hangar with modern offices, briefing rooms and adequate parking.

We run a friendly club with a welcoming atmosphere, encouraging professional attitudes toward safety and airmanship.
